Phishing is a type of online scam where criminals send fake emails, messages, or links pretending to be from legitimate organisations (like banks or government agencies) to steal your personal information or money.
OTP (One Time Password) scams occur when fraudsters trick you into sharing the OTP sent to your phone, usually by pretending to be bank employees, customer support, or government officials. Never share your OTP with anyone.
A Digital Arrest scam is when fraudsters call pretending to be police, CBI, or ED officers. They claim your Aadhaar or bank account is linked to a crime and demand money via video call. Real law enforcement never demands money over the phone.
Report cyber crimes at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal: cybercrime.gov.in or call the helpline 1930. Act quickly — the sooner you report, the better the chance of recovery.
